Never no problem ordering or collecting brilliant
Bought lots from Toolstation very good service
Excellent job
Does exactly what i wanted it to do
And only needed one coat
Would definitely recommend
Excellent does Excellent and exactly what its meant to do. Highly recommend to all great item and great price
Covered well with 2 coats after water ingress on plaster walls , easy to apply but very stinky until dry.
Used this to cover a stain on the ceiling from a leak and 2 coats followed by 2 emulsion coats - job done!
Excellent coverage. Pongs a fair bit so take that into account if you are using it in an enclosed space. Only needed one coat to cover water stains. Don't forget you need white spirit to get this off your brush.
Covered the water mark with ease in one coat. Highly recommend
I had a stain on the kitchen ceiling caused by a leak in the bathroom.
When I repainted, he stain kept coming through.
Cover Stain covered the stain. I applied two coats for security before painting over with emulsion, now you wouldn't know the stain had ever been there.
It should come with a warning on the tin !!! that is if you can read the small print on small 500ml tin sold in toolstation.
I purchased this small tin to cover some light stains on a new plasterboard wall which had been painted a couple of years ago again with some good quality white Matt emulsion and the plasterboard screws heads must be causing the stains as they are exactly were the screw heads are. So I painted the areas where the staining was with the coverstain and let it fully cure for a week. I then proceeded to paint over the coverstain with a good quality Dulux trade Matt white emulsion which then had a bad reaction with the coverstain and started to heavily crack and peel. I had to rub the wall down which took me some hours and I tried another Matt emulsion product and it done exactly the same thing so in the end I had to sand again and fill over the coverstain with some easifill which ended up still needing four coats of emulsion to stop the coverstain from shining through.
All Zinsser tech team would say is it occurred as I had spot painted the areas instead of the entire wall. I think this is silly as I've been using these type of products for years and most decorators or good DIYers use peel stop and coverstain Bin 123 etc for small areas. I personal think the batch was bad or it's been on toolstation shelf for too long but of course Zinsser aren't going to admit to that. There is no use by date on the tin so not sure how one can tell but I supplied all the details and codes of the tin but nothing was shared.
But word of warning if you ever contact Zinsser technical team by email expect to wait over a week and have to chase to get any response as it's shocking.
First time user and impressed with opacity over what had been a troublesome original lead paint removal job. Previous overcoats had reacted to acids in removal medium.
Had a water leak on my ceiling, so I tried this stuff, strong smell but not good on ceilings or walls, yes stopped the stain coming back but left a different shade when painting over with with paint, you can see the marks on ceiling of where I have used that product, just a shame after all my hard work. As a ex plasterer/ artexter I would be unable to recommend.
“Used this on water stains and marks after a roof leak repair and it worked brilliantly. Covered the stains first coat and stopped them coming back through the paint. Easy to apply, quick drying, and perfect as a base before normal white emulsion. Very good quality product, highly recommend.”
Works as claimed but 2 to 3 coats needed. Would be better if it was in brilliant white as most ceilings are that.
Used it to cover some water stains from the connecting bathroom. been a few weeks. hasn't shown up again. don't expect it to. Zinsser products have always been reliable for me. worth the slight premium cost.
Very useful product. Covered stains from leak in roof with 2 thin coats. Easy to apply. Very strong smell. Use plenty of ventilation while painting.
I had a brown water stain on kitchen ceiling used this product 2 coats and finished with white emulsion job done and perfect result would recommend.
I bought this product to cover water damage in a bathroom. I was told one coat should do it but for sure it needed two but the staining was very bad to be fair. Would have been good to know in advance how terrible the smell would be!! would have saved it for a dry day when I could have opened a window or two. Still its done the job and the in store service was as always fantastic
This is a great product, goes on easy, dries quickly, is water based so easy brush clean, goes a long way.
Two or three coats may be needed dependent on how bad the stain is, but this can be achieved quickly due to the product drying quickly.
Zinsser paints on thinly so leaves a nice finish prior to applying paint.
I have tried many stain block products and consider this to be by far the best.
Excellent primer for wood and used for a water stain on a bedroom ceiling.
