Being solvent based this stuff does smell strong (good idea to ventilate the room or wear a vapour mask), but it covers stains very well and doesn't seem to pull them through like some water-based paints will. I've also found it excellent for the priming/sealing of MDF. Rollered on with a foam roller produces a decent finish and again, the solvent base seems to avoid the roughing up of the MDF surface that a water-based sealer can cause. Avoids a load of prep before the top coats.

So far so good. This stain block has done a really good job of blocking a water stain.
Very useful stuff. Used with a gloss roller to prepare a discoloured, water-damaged varnish fire door. Adhered and covered very well in 2 coats, prior to a gloss finish being applied. Definitely better than sanding!
