Vintage Engine Protection with Thermaquilt. When Antifreeze on its own is never enough. When you can’t get spares the Thermaquilt will give you freezing temperature protection.
Thermaquilt insulation…first time I’ve used it but really good stuff. Ideal if you want to save space on the thickness of insulation
Great stuff used it on a few projects now, really easy to use
Cutting and securing the layers takes a while to master as the priority is to maintain a vapour barrier that prevents moist warm air from compromising the insulation
Handy to have compressive insulation with a vapour barrier included. The foil layer is tough and doesn't tear easily. Main downside is every time you cut a piece off, you have to foil tape around the cut edge as the layers separate, which is a real hassle.
Purchased six 10 mtr rolls using the total amount for a truss style construction roof space not an easy area to work in!
Covered the existing ceiling level fibre glass insulation with PVC sheeting to limit the disturbance of fibres (worked well) stapled easily with an electric staple gun using 12mm staples.
Found it beneficial to use aluminium foil tape around the open ends of the roll to prevent creepage of the layers.
Upon completion and removing the PVC sheeting, noted the fibre glass insulation was wet due to rising vapour from the habitable rooms below.
Have checked the loft on several occasions since the installation- the temperature is well above the exterior ambient temperature and no sign of moisture anywhere.
The gas heating thermostat is not calling for heating as often a prior to the Therma Quilt so a win-win situation.

I used this to insulate the walls and roof of a shed. Huge improvement! It’s lightweight and easy to handle.
Thick and easy to cut, great product
Good product good value. Would advise using a quality pair of scissors to cut it.
I bought this to finish insulation of stud walls between the bedroom and eves in a former bungalow as could only get 150mm insulation inbetween the joists. It’s easy to cut and fix and with the foil tape, easy to get a good seal. Rooms feel warmer already. It also keeps the eves cleaner for storage.
