A good unit once you can get it to work. I now feel secure in my home
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like it and very useful. Will introduce to friends
Had terrible problems connecting to wifi and fitting (got an electrician to wire it in). Yale customer service is quite useless, the software not much better. Doesn't consistently record movement (cars on the driveway not recording today but did yesterday), the release clip to remove from wall bracket did not work so now damaged as needed to take it off the mount to do a reset to amend wifi - button on the back - poor design. The chimes ring way after the doorbell has been rung as does the phone notification. Good camera quality, but cannot see parcels. Over-priced and quite useless as a doorbell as anyone ringing is long gone by the time you know someone is there. Subscription free service is a waste of time. Not fit for purpose. Would return but missed the window as tried to combine with other Yale products but all had to be returned to due various failings
It’s great for communicating with people whether I am in or not it’s brilliant. I can speak to post-men etc while anywhere in the world even on holiday
The door bell is fine, but the instructions for fitting it are less so.
Quick delivery, easy to install and super clear image on camera. Really pleased.
The product lived up to my expectations good video quality chime very loud
This was very easy to instal - I’ve kept it battery powered, and the battery is lasting well, but drilled fixings into my wall. The clarity of image and sound is excellent, with clear and timely notifications. The removal of the back to get the QR code is tricky, but once that’s done it’s very straightforward. The app allows me to monitor the battery level and plan accordingly too.
Super product, really easy to install. Looks great on the door and the App is perfect!
First class product and straightforward to install. Less than a month since setting things up but no problems at all.Everything worked first time.
For some years we have used a video doorbell either from a well known competitor to Yale or a good but more minor company. The only reason to change to Yale was that we also use a Yale remote controlled door lock as our outside door is three flights or stairs down from our living level. The idea for changing to the Yale Doorbell camera was simply that when the bell rings I just need one page on one phone app to see who is at the door and release the lock to let them in. No more using one app to see who is there and then having to open a second app for the door lock.
The Yale Door bell was quite easy to install and works as expected but I am not totally taken with the software and it was easier to check and delete recordings on our previous bell. A more major issue is the battery installation needs thinking about. Both our old bells had removable batteries so I could change to a new battery when needed in a few minutes and recharge the dead one in the house. That is impossible with the Yale as the battery is fixed inside a non openable case. The only way to charge is to take the complete bell in the house and recharge it via USB. This seems a particularly stupid design as when we are charging the battery we are back to visitors banging on the door and lose the security of the camera.
The bell may be permanently connected to mains but if we could do that we would not need the battery door bell anyway. We have, in the past used a couple of makes of battery doorbell and they both had removable batteries and the ability to buy extra batteries so they could be quickly swapped. I think the fact that the battery in the Yale is not swappable is a major error in design from a company that should know better.
A second minor issue which to start with seemed a good idea is that when the door bell is rung the Yale app effectively treats it the same as an incoming call so both my wife and I have both had a moment's confusion when the phone rings on whether there is someone at the door or the phone has a call.
It is convenient to have one app for the doorbell and lock but if I just needed the doorbell I would go back to either the makes we have used inn the past. Both were much better and no more expensive than the Yale.
Delivery was quick and instructions to set up was easy to follow with no problems. Now been working a couple of weeks and so far no issue and really pleased with the quality of the video and sound
Whilst the video quality is good, it takes 45 seconds from detecting movement or doorbell push to alerting that someone is there, which is unacceptably too long. It takes even longer to then access the camera footage. I will be replacing this with a different brand that gives a realistic response time.
Just bought this doorbell with camera and after a few attempts have now got it working very well. The picture is clear and the sound is good.
It's another useful item in my security arsenal.
I have also installed the remote chime and placed it upstairs where I can now hear if anyone calls.
I like the notification on my phone when the bell is pressed even if I am away from phone I can ask the caller to leave the package with a neighbor.
Overall all is well and I am very happy.
Video cameras next.
This sometimes pick up people walking on the pavement and other time you need to be in front of it before it picks you up.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to mount and connect to the power adapter. Compared to my previous video doorbell this one clearly indicates where the doorbell is. The only thing I miss is the ability to set a time of day for movement alarms, to avoid my phone buzzing every time I walk in or out.
Very good quality product that couldn’t be easier to install and set up. Very good App interface with plenty of great features subscription free. Loved that everything you need is in the box 👍
