Easy to fit, easy to use app. Camera is good. Night vision is good. You can view live, talk to a person. Put in detection zones. But, the motion detection isn't that great. You have to be quite near the camera. Plus the fixing is a little flimsy. If the motion detection could be improved it would be a 5 star camera. If you have a short front garden, this camera would be brilliant.
Nothing in the prominent marketing says you can only use 2.4ghz router. Many routers in UK are 5ghz with capability of 2.4 as well, but unless you are a tech geek and/ or have the time, then adjusting your router just to suit this product is not worth the effort
Straightforward installation. Works as specified. Battery icon on screen does not change to show when charging, as on the doorbell video camera.
very easy to use - instruction for startup could be a little better and needed to be fully charged before it would find my network, even though I had it plugged in.
Very good camera. It takes a good 30 seconds to load up the image and randomly deleted videos. But the picture is great and works well enough
Excellent add on, very good picture and sound quality
This connected easily to my network and provides a clear image and sound. I’ve got it mains powered, and it was relatively simple to do by creating a new extension socket indoors. I’d love a little more manoeuvrability on the angle, but it captures what I need to and gives me peace of mind. The notifications are timely and easily managed via the app.
Daylight Video quality is quite good, Infra red without spotlight is slightly less so. Fitting and connectivity is very easy
Works well enough but is VERY slow to connect, and some deleted Activity is stuck as black squares.
Okay.you cant use it for continuous monitoring and gets activated only on Motion detection
I was disappointed that the movement sensor is no more then 5 meters. Ok to monitor an area in front of a door but not good enough to monitor anything further than that, a drive for example.
Had recently bought a replacement Yale alarm system to replace a long serving old Yale system. The camera doesn't use the same app so I have 2 apps on my phone but no issue with that. On first attempt the camera didn't sync with the app so I just started again and this time all good. The camera was easy to attach to my garage and provides good clear videos, I don't use the HD 1080 option but the lower 720 to extend battery life which is still good quality. I was a bit concerned when the signal connection on the app rated poor, we don't have great internet speed. However no issues with connection or video quality. Good to be able to view callers when away from home. Would recommend as the product is solidly built and looks good quality build.

The camera seems quite good, but it’s early days. There is no manual, quick start guide or similar. Unbelievably frustrating. As an example, I bought the camera a few weeks ago and only two days ago unboxed. Knowing it needed mounting outside I waited for a pleasant day and got out all the necessary tools; steps, ladder, etc. But as soon as you start the online App process the first instruction is charge the camera which may take some time!
The Yale website suggests online documentation is available, but other than videos that verge on condescending there is nothing useful.
I have invested in several Yale smart alarm products and they all the same. Basically good but the end user (customer) would benefit by better support documentation.
Camera often cuts out despite having excellent wifi coverage throughout the house via a wifi mesh. Responsiveness on the app is poor. Seems to also lose coverage every evening whilst routine updates are performed. Would not recommend and I be seeking to return mine.
Wi-fi range is very poor. Even when located next to router get constant message that “Camera is not available”. So it’s not recording all activity and live view not loading when it should be available all the time. Had intended to buy more to cover entrance doors but won’t bother now.
Camera quality good however hit and miss when detecting motion and poor updates on recordings. I returned this item
I've been using the Yale Smart Outdoor Camera with the Solar Panel Charger, and it's been great. The solar panel is a huge plus because there's no need for any wiring, making setup easy. The camera's video quality is good, and the motion detection and night vision features work well for home security. Overall, it's a solid choice for a CCTV camera.
