Did what was required and reduced the room temp effectively
It is a bit noisy but back in Summer we put it on before bed to cool room and then switched it off when we went to sleep
I made a fitment for window as there’s nothing supplied to suit vertical casement windows
Haven’t tried the dehumidifier function yet
I got this a few weeks ago and haven’t stop using it , it does exactly what it’s supposed to , it does make a slight vibration noise but i didn’t let it bother me !!
Excellent machine, does what is needed at a sensible price. Lots of options on output to the outside, including draft excluding tape and various adapters. Remote control, 3 fan speeds, sleep option , easy to clean the filter , and empty.
Works well but be aware window fitting is for small sliding windows only and exhaust hose only 1.5 metres long.
Superb buy blows out ice cold and remote easy to work .
all in ok for a small machine, haven’t noticed any loud vibrations like others
Love it, works exactly what we need it for. Though the window attachment is for a slide window and not a push out window, so you will either need to just make it work, or get an attachment which can fit the window.
Unit comes with a fitting kit for sliding windows, but not much use for most windows. There is plenty of bits to adapt. We have used a acrylic panel to block the whole window opening, cut a hole and connected the hose with the kit. Fits great. We have used the unit in our bedroom 12m2, to test the unit for a few hours over the last couple of days. The temperature drop is a couple of degrees centigrade per hour. Very happy so far.
Best air conditioner on the market in my opinion ,
Bought this for our bedroom , bedroom is 4m x 4.5m and it cools it down within an hour , in the summer our thermostat gets to 32° as the bedroom is south facing , this air con unit will bring the room temperature down to 18° if you want it ,
Remote control , to put it on a timer to go off or come on , also has sleep mode , can also turn off any led lights , so the room is completely dark , glow in the dark buttons on the remote
Unit seems ok. Remote is useful as it also serves as a mobile room thermostat for the unit. However, the power cable is short (1.5m) and the ducting hose is also short and not very flexible. Worth noting if you are trying to duct out of a high window, as it will not reach.
Perfect… does exactly what it supposed to do and also very easy to use
Really effective unit. Quite noisy but expected for the size. I will say it’s quite heavy and, despite having handles isn’t particularly portable on carpets. But cools down a room by a few degrees in 10-15 minutes. Very happy with my purchase and good value for money.
We're currently living in a static caravan during the house refurb. After the heat we've had this week I'm very glad I bought this. Lowest setting is 17c and with an outside temp of 30c its been keeping the caravan around 22/23c which is comfortable. Otherwise it would be unbearable.
Seems well made. Exhaust hose to short to reach vent window so needs to be extended. Blurb says that it comes with a window kit but this is only suitable for sliding windows and not hinged ones. To early to make comment on how well it works as it hasn't been hot enough to warrant use.
Noise level seems acceptable, but I wouldn't like to leave it running at night as any noise disturbs me.
This is a great product. I bought it for the cooling function , ready for a hot summer. I haven’t used it for an extended period yet but was excellent during my test. It has carry handles on the side , however its a bit too heavy to take upstairs on your own.
Good service, prompt delivery at a good price. Will set it up ready for the Summer.
some reviews had said that they use this unit on their window sill. I'd personally like to see just how big their window sills are and more so, how they got this unit up there!
Joking aside, it does an amazing job of cooling the room down within only a few minutes (our bedroom is about 3m x 4m) and although the unit is very loud, it's much more welcome putting up with the noise than sweating myself to death.
pros: great cooling, well made, comes with plenty accessories to fit different windows, has remote control with display
cons; remote control has to be aimed with reasonable accuracy at the sensor to pick it up, large and heavy unit so not very easy to manoeuvre from room to room if there's any steps or stairs (it wheels well), ducting supplied is quite short so unit needs to be right at the window.
Reasonable aircon with accessories and window kit. As it is a 9000BTU, and it is priced as a 9000BTU, it is value for money and provide sufficient comfort even during the hottest day every in the UK (19/7/22). Been running it today, keep us comfortable (about 24C), but not enough to turn the 200 sqf room "cold" (such as 18C).
Was searching for a reasonably priced air conditioning unit, saw this, and have no regrets, good build quality, kept us all very cool when temperatures recently were above 30 degrees, whilst not being terribly loud when functioning. Highly recommended. Toolstation's ordering and delivery process was smooth and unit delivered on time. Perfect for our Family!
I was worried about buying when there were no reviews but i need not have worried. The 4 stars is because the instruction book is very poor. For example it dies not say whether you vave to collect the condensate when using the air conditioner. I realised that Wessex is only Toolstation branding so i searched and found that it is based upon the Honeywell HL09CESWK. This has 5 star reviews.
A problem is that the exhaust hose is too short if you want to vent through a top window. I bought an extension hose from Toolstation for about £6.50 which solved the problem. When i was placing the order the option to purchase the hose appeared.
It is reasonably quiet, the only noise is the chilled air being blown out of the top vent.
