Best switch for the money, very sturdy with a positive action, nice to have the red led option for on/off.
Dreadful product. Straight out of the box one of the switches was busted. What sort of quality control is that and for electrics too. No. I bought one similar to this fifteen years ago and it was a super quality, this (rude word).
Perhaps being naive, I knocked out a single cut-out (like the one shown on the left side of the photo) and then wanted to place this side of the backbox facing downwards to the conduit coming from below. Then I wanted to have the neon indicator light at the top of the switch (as in the photo). So effectively needed to rotate the face plate by 90° to the right from the position shown in the photo. And then discovered that the face plate would only screw down into the back box in the orientation shown in the photo and not in any of the other three possible positions. When I tried screwing down the face plate in any of the other three positions there was always a gap between the back box and the face plate - which means that the assembled switch was at nothing like IP66.

having built a massive gazebo for the client they wanted some lights for it and this fitted the bill. it is water proof and large enough for the client to find in the dark. looks professionally smart and easy to install, and the cleint was very happy with it.

An excellent product ruined by crappy cover fixing screws. Surely a product of this calibre deserves stainless steel screws with heads that allow for easy insertion and ones which can be removrd in the future without the need for a sledge hammer. Machine screws with threaded metal (brass) sockets in the plastic moulding would be the ideal solution.

The switch is fine and up to now, no trouble with being out in the elements. my low score is because you cannot rotate the back box. I required double entry at the bottom and have had to put the switch upside down.

The only complaint is that as expected the sealing pads distort under pressure from the fixing screws and do not give a rigid fixing. Also the notes suggest that the box can be swung into angular alignment, but you cannot do this once the screw is in the located pad. Sealing paste gives a better solution, (but it must be neutral cure).
When using conduit, it would be an advantage if 'O' rings were supplied to fit the entry groove and be compressed by the abutting face of the fitting. This would give a rigid fixing. The section of the groove is very small for the hole diameter so that suitable 'O' rings are not readily available in small quantities.
Otherwise it is fine.
Only issue is the live connection is very close to the earth connection, so make sure you don't leave either of the cables longer than is necessary

Does what it says on the pack. Simple single switch. Good quality construction, easy to install (as a replacement for an old switch). After a fortnight of all weathers since installation, I'd say its definitely weatherproof. Internal wiring for LED can be simply altered to requirements. I wired mine as a locator so I can see the switch in the dark when its switched off.
