Union BS 5 Lever Mortice Sashlock 76mm Satin Chrome

Trying to get the correct size lock to replace the existing one that had failed was not as easy as one would expect. Manufacturers seem to enjoy changes sizes by insignificant amounts (according to them) but which makes for a minefield of sizes and options.
The staff at Toolstation, Saffron Walden, were thorough, patient, extremely helpful and could not have been more pleasant to deal with.
We eventually found a suitable replacement which is working well.
I very much appreciated their friendly and professional service.

Bought to replace a 76mm Chubb lock but the information on the website was insufficient to determine wjhether it would be a direct replacement. Having bought the lock I discovered that the position of the keyhole and the lock spindles were different and the receiver plate was also longer. Instead of a quick replacement it was a couple of hours work.

Solid easy replacement. I've used Union locks before and the build quality is very good with clear fitting instructions.

I'd bought a Union lock online to replace an Era one and of course it didn't fit so took it back. Staff in Livingston were efficient, polite and friendly, found me the correct Era lock and let me check it against the original before swopping it. The Era lock had been changed slightly since the original from 25 years ago but a little work with a chisel and hammer and it was fitted easily. The lock seems well made and operates easily. Very happy customer.

Good mid-priced lock, easy to fit as a replacement for a non BS lock. Keeps the Insurance Co happy.

A very good quality product, really liked the easily reversible tang on the latch, and the lock was pretty much a straight swap for the existing, where the keep wasn't but it was much more robust than the previous one.
Will buy again when i need another lock.

2nd purchase of the Union 5 Lever Mortice Lock to replace existing in which the lever mechanism was constantly sticking in body or in locked position & very frustrating! Complete with all fittings. Same size so easy fit. Works great, quality product lock works well. Definitely suggesting my brother in law replaces his too as he has same problem!

I’m no locksmith, only fit locks infrequently, had 4 of these to do on a project if you’ve a good flat bit (DO NOT go cheap here!) sharp chisels and a router/hinge cutter..it seems relatively straight forward, I’m happy with the results. I didn’t see the point going for un rated 5 levers when these a just a few quid more. Action seems very smooth and nice to have a Union product.

Decent lock but replacing a 10 year old union lock and the screw holes are totally different.
