The mesh sanding disk is really good for letting the dust through it , allowing the vacuum to remove more dust from the air , as for the disk lasting longer for the considerable extra cost, I cannot agree with that claim .
Worked ok on a hand block but not good on a DA did not last more than 5 minutes on vehicle body filler
Weren't great on wood or mdf
Cost more than normal discs but worth every penny as last much loger
I thought these were suppose to be really good and last 5 times longer but they get destroyed really quickly!
I am only sanding over sleepers and wooden posts, perhaps the edges are doing the damage but the cheaper normal ones lasted better.
I am now concerned about damaging the velcro backing pad!
Annoyed as I bought a lot of them as they had good reviews
i thought i give it a go as i was sanding back two rooms by random orbit. i do not think it made a difference however i'm not one who takes an advice of not tipping the sander so the edges wear out just as they do on regular sandpaper. (i am also not one who rents a floor sander as i found them unsufficient.) i have not put them under the tap to wash and reuse as without the edge they aren't much use to me. normally one 40/60/80m grit paper is enough to take back lacquer, varnish whatever to bare wood and remove blemishes per square meter. the same ratio was achieved with this one. not more not less. i asked the wife to put them in the washing with my work clothes but she flatly refused. so
