Trend Intumescent Recessor bits are for use with either frame or door applications with standard Intumescent Strip. These cutters have microgranular Tungsten Carbide tips to ensure perfect sharpness and have a highly ground tip face to ensure its maintains its edge, as well as PTFE non stick coating on the body to minimise resin and heat build-up for longer life.
These cutters neatly cuts groves on doors or frames to accept Intumescent Strip which enbales the formation of effective barriers to both fire and smoke.

a pricey item but cut through oak like butter - and Toolstation had it in stock at short notice
Good quality router bit. The cut was crisp and the intermittent fire strip fitted perfectly.
This Router is absolutely brilliant .. it cut the groove exactly to the required depth and width required to receive the intumescent strip.
Excellent tool for routing a clean 4mm channel in a fire door or frame to take an intumescent strip.

Perfect tool ! I’ve tried loads of other ways but this bit cuts the exact correct depth so the strips fit totally flush.

Good piece of kit. I'm not sure how many of the doors you should be able to route out with one bit but managed 2 fire doors on 3 sides no problem. Good cutting action and very neat finish.
