A well-thought-out tool. I no longer have to buy new chisels; I just sharpen them. A well-thought-out tool. I no longer have to buy new chisels; I just sharpen them. Therefore, it produces less waste.

Not the best but far from the worst I’ve used to be fare it’s good for the price does the job fairly well in a hurry but take your time and it’s 99% perfect and yes I would recommend

Great tool and easy to use, could do with a few different grit plates being sold as an option through Toolstation.
Why sell the tool but no parts??

A demonstration video by Trend convinced me this was an excellent product and the price appeared reasonable. Setup was ok, you need to fix it securely to a bench, or something solid. To sharpen tools one chooses the grade of grinding pad and the angle of the blade. Changing the pads is simple. The shallower angle in theory is sharper, but blunts faster, the choice is yours. Holding the item to be sharpened, whilst moving the grinding mechanism back and forth was problematic. It was not easy to get the tool in the correct position, either it did not grind or it tended to jam. It was hard work working the slider back and forth many times, it was a slow process. I did find a video made by a female carpenter in the US and she clearly experienced the problems I in cured. Had I seen the ladies video before purchase I probably in all honesty would not have purchased

Used the tools on my chisel, takes a little time If you have a chip in a chi self
But with all the grits gives a great finished product

Bought this to ensure that a really nice set of Irwin Marple chisels stayed in good condition. This is a really good solid little bit of kit. Very easy to use, it arrives with sharpening plates that cover all your needs, from having to totally re-grind a chisel/plane blade, to just giving it a fine Polish up. Highly recommended.

Very handy sharpening tool for quickly keeping an edge on chisels, plane irons etc, i would highly recommend getting the finer stones also

Works better than lots of other 'devices' but not perfect - the 'sled' rocks a bit in its runners which can lead to slightly uneven honing. If you keep this in check, it's a great little sharpener.

So simple to use works better than I thought I will recommend to my friends

Makes easy work of getting the angle correct. Well made and a good weight to it.
