Toupret products are top quality, easy application, super smooth, no sag, no depth limit, easy to sand, 10/10
It's not the best it did the job it went off fairly quickly
Used the powder rather than ready mixed. To get a thicker mix that fills better and dries quickly,
Skimmed over chasing out and applied second coat after a few hours, sanded lovely next day with no edge, and painted like sparky had not been,
Apart from the dust and crap he left , no change there.
As per of renovating our home, I decided to try Toupret joint, skim and fill, as it does not require pva treatment to the substrate in the way plaster does.
It also has the ability to be used at any depth and also as a skim over previous wall coatings, so in short it is a good all rounder!
Toolstation offered the best price in my area and had stock, although it does seem to be limited to a few bags per outlet, so you may need to order ahead of time.
I had asbestos artex removed from walls leaving the old backing plaster, with deep areas of voids, needing to be filled prior to skimming the walls.
I decided to try this product and am very pleased with the results and the ease of application, as the product is forgiving, easy to work with and dries to a hard finish relatively quickly, which is able to be decorated or added to if the need arises without any issues.
A lower price would be appreciated, but over all very pleased.
Mixes well, goes on well, sands well. Super product
All toupret filling products are great and would use any of them and are easy to sand. I used to use a lot of gyproc easi fill but only use if hanging coving along side filling the walls. It so over priced now so always use Toupret products especially when skimming
It's great, no shrinkage, no problem with deep fills and dries quickly too
This is brilliant making good, filling etc. Goes on so easily, adheres very well and it so easy to rub down. You really can get a perfect finish.
Nice filler, very easy to sand can be mixed for filling or skimming top product.
Joint fill & skim is just the sort of thing you need if you are repairing smaller areas that you cannot wait for days or weeks for plaster to set. Its also great for joint filling smoothing off between plasterboard sheets. It is a bit expensive but saves so much time and seems to work on most surfaces with little or no preperation.
A great product. I have very little skill with plaster and this product flatters my failings. East to get a smooth mix and easy to sand to a good finish.
I'm renovating a 1950s flat at the moment and this product is my new best friend! It mixes up easily, is easy to apply and sands down well. Its really fine so you get a lovely smooth finish. A bonus for me is that you can add a little extra water to it if its started to go off but you've not finished with it and you can keep on working with it. Great for larhe and small areas. Best product out there, cant recommend enough.
Great filler easy to use cover my artex ceiling in two cots.
Better than Gypfill for me, this and the rapid version are my go to fillers. It’s softer than FillTite, and dries nicely without cracking, and takes paint very well.
So easy to work with - wish I'd bought it years ago!
This is my go to for plastering over board. It's super smooth and is easy to work with
good quality joint skim I like it very much very nice product
After a lot of thought I decided to try this filler as I’m used to buying a well known brand
But it’s equally as good and a lot cheaper
This stuff actually does fill to any depth, it doesn't slump or slip out of deep holes and it doesn't crack when dry if it goes on thick... but... it's very thick and sticky (which is why it works) so it's difficult to mix the water in and get lump-free. Small quantities (1 kg of powder or less) can be mixed fairly easily but if you're trying to cover a large area and want to mix up half a bag or more then it's really difficult to mix, forget trying to use a paddle mixer. The instructions tell you how much water to add and it's important to follow the measurements or it'll be too runny to fill deep or large holes. The other thing is that if you fill a deep or large hole then allow more time than they say for it to dry before sanding, if it's thin it'll dry in 24 hours or less but if it's thick then it does take longer. I am buying more of this stuff today for other places in an old house that need filling, it's good value and does the job it says it'll do (unlike 'Toupret Magic levelling kit'... which is a big fat lie and utterly useless! Not that I'm reviewing the product here).
I had to do some skimming on a small area.
I had already filled some deep repairs that had gone off overnight.
This was perfect.
Not the cheapest filler, but almost certainly one of the best and most versatile.
You can't use other fillers as a plaster.
This doesn't shrink, move, crack or sag.
This makes it in my view, one of the only fillers you will need
