I needed to reposition cupboard hinges, the forstner bit cut the flat hole perfectly. I'll set it aside for the next repair.
Needed this in an emergency, left my one at home, the guys in the tool station I went to were most helpful and now my bit can stay home, this was a far better replacement. Not much you can say about a drill bit but this one is good.

Bought this bit to fit hinges to a pair of cupboard door. Had the doors. Had the hinges so buying a forstner bit made good sense. Tested it out, but yet to do the job.
If you just need to drill one or two holes, this is fine. If you're doing a few, spend a bit more

Great value, drills a neat hole. Pilot spike is just big enough to hold the bit in place, but without drilling through to the other side. perfect for chipboard cabinet hinges.

On the bit that I purchased from Toolstation the central point was too short to follow a pilot hole and, because of this, the bit skidded around. I borrowed a similar bit with a slightly longer point from a neighbour and it worked fine. This might be a manufacturing error restricted to my purchase but, if not, beware!
I returned the bit and Toolstation was happy to give a refund.
Did the job it was bought for! Drilling new hinge hole for integral door.
I had a load of hinge holes to drill so thought I'd buy a new bit. Very disappointed to find it was blunt. After sharpening it it cuts great, but drill bits should be sharp and ready to use out of the packet.
