Bought for making holes through the neutral third of ceiling joists when wiring a new extension. The short shank means you can use it in a cordless drill between the joists.

I needed a forstner bit and although called a hinge cutter it did the same job. I have only used it once to cut three holes in a piece of wood for the legs of a stool I am making. However, the wood is very hard (oak I think) and the bit produced three clean, tidy holes.
Very good but I have a Bosch equivalent to compare it to for longitivity.

Not the best of quality. Didn't produce a clean cut.
So.... Bought this to cut an accurate hole in an oak door. The cutting action is good, far better than spade bits, but... it cut 1mm oversize, which doesn't sound much, unless it's on show of course. so drill a test hole first, and re-grind the point to centralise if necessary.
This bit did exactly what it was designed for, quality is great drilled 30 holes and still going.

I need'ed to fit a specailist fence lock needing a 26mm aperture.....not a common size in speed bits.
But this cutter worked a dream a good addition to tool box .
