The item itself is good - does what it should, but the instructions are next to useless and it didn't come with all necessary parts. We had to fashion a striker plate from our own materials. Luckily we had both the skills and resources to do this, but anyone buying this and expecting it to be ready and simple to fit will be disappointed and, presumably, looking to return it.
Not had this fitted yet but very pleased to have found it to replace my existing one, which is in a very sorry state. I have been looking for the same for a long time and I had decided that they weren't made anymore, until I saw it advertised on Tool Station Website. It's sturdy and it looks good, almost exactly the same as the existing one, just need someone to fit it now!
The product is pretty good to be fair. The instructions are terrible. They really need to update and make them clearer
Excellent product, easy to fit but take your time, now draught free and looks great painted the same as the door.
Tried numerous places to replace our old rainstrip and only 2 retailers had them for sale. Only Tool Station had the exact equivelent and at a reasonable price!
I always try Tool Station before going anywhere else.

This is the second one I have bought - the previous one has lasted 8 years, only replacing due to accidental damage.
Clearly well made of quality materials. However I needed to cut mine to fit a narrower door. There's no instructions included inspite of the mechanism needing some care to avoid damage. Some are available on the Stormguard site, what I saw looked like an old photocopy. A great shame. The Item was returned.
It’s an okay product the big problem is the cold causes the mechanism to stick so it doesn’t spring back like it should
I had high hopes this would provide an effective exterior draught seal to my front door. Clever idea I thought, looks well made and should work well. Sadly when I got it home and opened the box it was obvious the 'business edge' of the seal was so badly wavy it could never do its job effectively.. Returned and received a refund, only one in stock so no chance to find out if it was a one off defect on not.. If you are still tempted to buy it check it out in store
Wasn't convinced would work as well as it said, but with a bit of spray grease in mechanism works a treat. closes down nicely and not had any rain blown under since. Pretty easy to fit, just make sure your cutting the right end to fit!
Easy to install & very effective. Most satisfied.
Outstanding product; desperation led me to risk £30 on it, but it really works. Follow the instructions exactly; I suspect they have been updated several times to iron out errors made by novice installers, top marks to the manufacturer.
Shame I cannot say the same about the faulty Toolstation order notification system which again caused me a wasted journey.
This is the second of these I have bought. This one I fitted to my Dad's house in time for winter. Glad I had done one before as this was easier. The instructions are pretty bad, it looks like an old photocopy from the '70's, Brydale could do with an upgrade here. Things to watch out for - make sure you trim the correct end (the end closest to the hinge) so you don't cut off the lug that folds down the front flap on closing. Ensure the door opens square before fitting the flap. On this last door the threshold internally was marginally higher inside which meant that when the door was fully opened the draft excluder fouled on the floor, which in turn meant the rubber strip folded in on itself when shutting the door. Easy enough to fix by moving the draft seal up 5mm but I could have got this right first time if I had fitted the draft seal with the door opened not shut. Last thing - the articulated front flap on shutting the door folds down. If your door is flush with the external step and no horizontal surface extends beyond the front edge of the door you will need to fashion an extension to your door sill. I had to screw on a piece of wood to the door sill about 40mm deep so that the flap closed tight against something and was not left hanging in mid-air. 4 out of 5 because of the poor instructions, the seal itself is 5/5
I was a bit wary of this before I bought it - but it is brilliant, and does exactly what it claims to do! Toolstaition excellent as usual.
Replaces an old similar bar - looks great though slightly fiddly to fit
Very effective draught excluder, easy to fit although requires chisel skills for the striker plate
