Bought this to replace an old friend, now mislaid. The blade isn’t retractable but is rock solid in use. I needed it to hold the Stanley hacksaw blade I already had - a really useful item.

Always been a good tool. My dad had one, i already own one and the time had come to replace it. Difficult to find a fixed blade version and Toolstation.com offers them for a great price.

This is what most drywallers use in America and it seems to be very robust and people seem to use them for years. 3 parts to it that's all, no slide, fixed blade. The best
199e is classic but harder to make a controlled depth cut when fitted flooring (carpets/vinyl/lvt), though sturdy and functional, can't go wrong for an all rounder.
Much better than a plastic bodied retractable knife which are both useless and potentially dangerous. Love Stanley
typical Stanley quality as expected nice touch guard to cover end of blade when not in use so great all round better than cheaper plastic alternatives
