Not a straight replacement for the previous version.
Not enough space in the box for the wiring to not interfere with the pull switch.
Happy customer, nice looking light for my cloakroom and great the batteries are supplied too.
I have spent far too much time trying to install this light fitting. The basic problem is the design of the box that holds both the wires and the switch. There just isn't enough room and this causes two problems. Firstly pushing the cover over the part on the wall to get the screws to then hold it in place is extremely difficult, squashing everything together and then when you do achieve that I found that the switch wouldn't work. It would turn on but that was it, it wouldn't turn off. Taking it all off once again reveals that the switch mechanism is only millimeters from the wires (the one that come with it) not the ones I was working with and if the touch when you squash it all back the switch just hasn't room to click back and forth. Basically, the box for all the wires and switch just isn't big enough and everything is far too close. I admit that eventually I got it to work, but not until I had run out of expletives and I am now looking for a replacement already as I am convinced that the switch will stop working before too long. This is the most frustrating bit of kit that I have bought for a long time. I certainly won't be recommending this to anybody.
Nice light easy to fit, only down side is the pull cord is in the middle and hangs over the mirror I have. But still looks great and works fine.
This is a good quality item and well designed to give exceptional light over you're required area. We are delighted with this purchase.
I an happy to have bought this little light for my shower room. It is easy to install and inexpensive to run and it lights up the whole room by itself.
If anyone is thinking of a like for like swop, there are differences. You cant use the existing backplate because the screws dont quite line up, and the new backplate has the cable entry in a different place, requiring more work to reroute it..if its long enough.
There is precious little room in these for cable, and you need a bit of slack to fit it.
Looks Ok if thats your thing, but I found it a b!tch to fit and am glad I hadn't priced it.
I wasn't able to insta the lamp because it needs earthing, and the connection in the toilet does not provide an earth connection. But it looks good and seems well-made.
It's not a good product. The glass tube cover for the bulb came broken in the box.
Great little light fitting easy fit but didn't come with the led lamps!
The pull switch is a bit flimsy. Sticks on sometimes lighting unit is ok.
Very poorly designed, leaving no room within the enclosure for wires. The location of the hole for where the cabling enters interferes with the internal terminal block.
This is a good light and not as difficult to fit as some reviews suggest. I put in 220lumen G9 bulbs
Elegant looking with good light output and functionality. Would recommend cutting off the string and removing the silver switch pull for easier installation easy to re- tie after connecting.
Good little light used over a bathroom mirror. There's not a lot of space for wire in the mounting unit which makes connecting the wiring to the connector block a bit fiddly and it took several goes to be able to get the unit fitted to the back plate.
Neat to the point of being too small. If the 'connection' box was just a bit larger, it would get 5 stars. As it is, it's very difficult to terminate the 1.5mm mains wires. When you have managed this, the cover pushes back onto the switch and prevents it operating. There were times when I thought of retuning it, but I persevered and by enlarging holes etc I got it working and it looks, and works ok.
Bad internal design took ages to fit after having to mod the connections then one pullnon the switch cord and it broke. Straight in the bin
The light works well giving a very good lighting level for a small electrical input.
I thought it would be a little bigger. Overall very good product. Recommend
Detachable screw terminals would be better when trying to fit to short length cable tails.
