Once I got around the instructions, it was pretty simple to fit and was more secure than previous ones I have fitted in the house.
In my opinion it’s well worth the money for extra safety
They do sit slightly proud due to the runner seal, maybe 1mm but seem OK to me. Also had to fit in double thickness plasterboard and they fit so snuggle in the holes that they're secure. The electrical connections aren't great but the same as all these lights seem to be, i replaced with wago boxes and wago clips in a loft lid.
Not about the product but about the service. Unfortunately, I didn't use this product and came into a local store to return. The staff made me very uncomfortable in front of other customers for returning this product.
I got these as there was no other IP65 adjustable lights, but these are awful. There is nowhere to secure the earth wires although this is made of metal. Terrible build quality and the chockblock connectors were a surprise. I installed these, and then just couldn't live with them, so went to another merchant (and felt like a traitor) and got the ones that they had.
Easy ordering for collection through the App, order was available very quickly and I was kept well informed. The downlights are perfect for my lounge, easy to install (by an electrician) and look modern and discreet.
It doesn't hold together. As soon as you push them into the ceiling, the black part (with the springs) separates from the white part (containing the bulb). They need to by tight to hold together when you push them in but they're not tight enough. I would have sent them back but I've opened them already and after a long struggle I managed to fit them into the ceiling. And because they're not tight enough the light doesnt stay tight against the ceiling, creating a slight gap on a side.
Replaced my old bathroom down lights with these. Easy to fit and looks great.
Disappointing … Absolutely no connection for an earth wire. Spring clips that hold fitting into ceiling (plasterboard) are too weak, so whole unit hangs down slightly. Tilt angle of bulb holder barely different from main housing. Bulb sits in an open back chassis, rather than within fully enclosed canister. Connection block cover has to be modified as there are no cut-outs for cables. Finally, very overpriced for what it is, compared with the variety of other choices available. NOT recommended!
Needed a tilt unit to fit in a 70mm cutout and it fitted perfectly despite saying it needs a 74mm cutout!
Good value downlighter complete with swivel facility for shower room use
Easy to fit. Nice quality. Not much of an angle if you want to throw light onto a wall; probably only 10/15 degrees. Easy to change bulb if required.
Nice Downlight but instructions not very clear how to get bulb in
Shocking so bad. When the gu10 bulbs are in the holder in one it rattles about, the other the lens wont fit because the gu10 is too close and stops it clicking. The 3 retention springs in the black mounting holder do not align with the section in the white unit properly so when you fix the gu10 bulb the combined weight means it all just drops out of the holder. Of course you only find all this out after you have made the holes! A considerable amount of modification was required to make them function the way they were designed to rather than made
Great lights great service Very pleased
Ok, they dont cost much but even taking that into account these are pretty poor. The design is good but they're so cheaply made that I couldn't recommend these. A similar product for twice the price would be a much better buy.
The wiring is fiddly, there is barely enough space for 1.5 cable, the cable clamp is flimsy.
The instructions included (in all 4 lights) were for a completely different style of lamp which made the useless.
The construction of the body of the lamp is pretty poor and adjusting the lamps causes the bulb cover to come loose.
The spring clips are too weak meaning the lamp isn't pulled tightly in the ceiling.
The silicone seal between the underside of the lamp and the ceiling is thin and the seal which sits in the adjustable section of the lamp distorts as soon as you move the lamp. How that maintains the IP rating is a mystery.
It's a shame as the design is pretty good, being built down to a price has ruined it.
Spend a bit more money and buy something decent.
I bought this light after reading previous reviews and I must say I agree entirely. Super light for the money. Would also recommend.
Bought 4 of these as downlighters to fit the soffit boards of the garage. They are very fiddly and not of a good quality overall. The wiring is very fiddly and the side support for the wiring did not fit on two of the four fittings and had to be filed down. The retaining springs both broke on one of the fittings so had to get a replacement. These lights will not clamp tightly on to 6mm thick UPVC soffit board and I had to silicone them into position. I'm guessing they would probably make a tight fit on plasterboard. The lamp when fitted tends to rattle around the housing as its not a tight fit and angling the lights is very difficult as they are very stiff.
