The product wouldn’t fit on the gun I have whereas I’ve never had this problem before with other brands. The fitting on this canister is different.

Less flammable than B3 foams

I'm only giving three stars because I don't know if this is more, or less, flammable than a B2 foam, and the datasheets do not allow those of us without very specific industry knowledge to understand how B2 (normal flammability) and B1 (flame retardent) compares with the European standard EN 1366-4 which this is certified to, and Soudal isn't telling us on the product information.

Confusingly, a lot of foams have a fire rating, but the fire rating shown on a lot of foams is B3 which means 'easily flammable'. Not sure what the rating of this Soudafoam FR is, but seems to be better. Having seen how flammable some of the other foams are, I wouldn't really want to use anything less. In a non-laboratory test that probably better reflects how foam is normally used as a filler, this burns brightly when you apply a flame to it, but does not sustain the burn once the flame is removed and extinguishes itself.

As a foam, leaving aside flammability issues, this seems to be just as good as any other.

If anyone is wondering on the advantage of gun-grade foam, using a gun means much more accurate and controlled application of the foam and less wastage, plus you leave the can on the gun and shut the valve and can keep it stored that way for several weeks rather than having to use the whole can in a day. The disadvantage is that if the gun has imperfect seals or you leave it too long, then you risk having to dismantle the gun and clean out the gun (hopefully) because it gets blocked.
