The sand worked well, but the sponge is a waste of time. It's not fixed stand so it falls out and moves around when being used.

This is a basic soldering iron stand , no frills ,just works well.
Excellent solder stand with was cheap and think was reasonably priced. The stand seems very durable and strong, I’ve not used it yet but looks fit for purpose

Very nice stand for holding the iron, but far too light to stop it toppling over. Have fixed two 5 inch by half inch solid bars into the base and can now use it with confidence, especially with my 12volt iron in the car.
It's like a third hand when you need to get the job done.

Good stand. Could do with a bit more weight to resist sliding around on the table, but otherwise holds the iron securely and the sponge is very useful for keeping the iron clean and tinned.
Simple but effective soldering iron stand. This is a replacement stand (other not purchased through Toolstation).

It is oK but the base has no weight so it easily tips up with corded soldering irons. I think I will add cement and steel scrap in the bottom to make it more stable....As they do in sellotape dispensers and similar desk tools.
I would not recommend it to friends I would try and get one with a heavier base.....it is the price it is for a reason !
