Works an absolute treat.. fantastic for cutting insulation around socket boxes.
So we bought this to make specific cuts in 62.5mm Celotex insulated plasterboard, where other tools couldn’t reach. It did the job well and was well worth having as an extra option.
Never tried one before- just used an old saw!
WELL WORTH THE MONEY! Quick easy and far less mess!
I had some fairly standard cuts to do and ended up reverting to my handsaw, when cutting 100mm Kingspan. I think this tool would have suited me better if I had more complicated cuts. But nothing wrong with it.
Totally useless, wouldn’t cut custard!!. blunt, might a well use an old blade and sharpen the edges.
I used it on 100mm PIR and the blade doesnt stay straight so the bottom of the cut was angled. Reverted to a handsaw. Yet to try it on other insulation types or thinner material
Great double sided blade nakes easy work of insulation
Really difficult to use on 100 mm PIR it’s nor sharp enough, and drift in the cut is hard to control better with a good saw but messy.
Creates very little dust and after a little practice can give nice straight 90 deg cuts.
It's a nice idea but it doesn't cut that smooth and when added with the noise of a multi tool.
However, if you re not used to cutting PIR it will save strain on your arm.
I'm sticking with my hand blades for now.
The blade delaminats within a day in moderate use, I have had 3 this week as toolstation change them straight away, would of had a fourth but there stock ran out
Available when expected and as described. My multitool broke after I started using the blade, but this may not be the cause.
Bought to trim PIR insulation and it wokred a treat. One issue I found was it can be tricky to keep at 90 degrees to the edge.
The blade delaminated and flew across the room the first time the multi-tool was switched on. No problem with Toolstation though who offered refund or replacement without question.
The blade broke after only 3 cuts, very dusty to use.
Excellent tool. Does exactly what it should with the minimum of mess. Much better than a jab saw for cutting foam board.
Not sure if I got a dud one , but I was expecting similar to the Bosch multi material jigsaw blades that are brilliant…this in not! Has no edge on it - you can saw it across your fingers and it certainly wouldn’t break the skin however hard you tried. Didn’t have time or desire to take it back so I put an edge on it with a diamond stone - then it sort of cuts PIR but not really! Utterly useless, avoid
Doesn't cut polystyrene very well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Much easier than using a saw...Not so messy either
Bought this blade to make cuts in plasterboard and Celotex ready for installing electrical boxes in new extension and it made light work of the whole thing.
