These sliding door gear kits are great in my opinion. I've fitted five over the last twenty years. I know some say they've had to shorten the screws the doors hang on. I suspect they haven't followed the instructions. The instructions say the height from floor to the top of the rail is 86mm plus the door and channel which is screwed to the bottom of th door. The first nuts 'A' clamp the bolt to the hanging bracket (they have to be aligned so two flats on the head will slide through the Hanging bracket) on the rail. The nuts 'B' & 'C' with washers as instucted, clamp the bolt to the inverted 'U' brackets on the door, they enable the door to be raised and lowered, the end of the bolt won't touch the top of the door if the measurements are correct. Because the door I've just fitted is glass and quite heavy I used a different method. I fitted the rail to the door with the door on it's side then lifted the whole door plus rail into postion on spacers. I used the B & C nuts to postion the rail where I wanted it and screwed the rail in place then used the B & C nuts to raise the door to it's working position 6mm off the floor. After many years the rail will need a clean as grey dust from the bearings on the rail will build up which affects the running hugely. I've just done 3 of mine and they are running like new again. One door had been yanked by a blind guy who didn't realise the door slid, it always made a lot of noise. Cleaning and lubricating with vaseline has sorted the noise problem and it runs like a dream. Worked perfectly. Made a sliding door for my shed. Door was 1050mm wide so over size but made no difference. The double sets of ball bearing tracks in this have made it super easy to use and works great.
Seems robust enough but the instructions are terrible.
Great sliding door gear and easy to install. Door stops could do with being made from steel with rubber buffers rather than plastic.

Easy to fit - just the job. Didn't need to cut the architrave, fitted a suitably sized batten above it which was perfect.
