Used this cord to hang some sign boards in a commercial setting, the cord looks so much better than the pvc rope, and is strong enough to hold a medium weight sign board
You know how you put jobs off… then finally get the time to do them. Then only to find you haven’t got the bits and pieces you need. The once ubiquitous ‘waxed sash cord’ seemed tricky to come by locally… and not being one for the big shed on the Internet, I happened to check in with my local Toolstation. Thanks TS for helping fix my windows and giving me the opportunity to shop locally and get exactly what I needed.
So pleased that they had this in stock and great value compared to previous purchases
Time will tell but seems to be a good quality sash cord.
Used the sash cord to wrap around a French door stop, did the job and looks pretty good too
Oh dear! I don't like to give bad reviews but this cord was totally unsuitable for our lovely 'Sheila Maid' (old fashioned laundry airer). After over five years' use, our airer cord was wearing out and I was glad to find some available locally. The chaps in Toolstation are lovely, very friendly and helpful - but the cord is awful! I read the previous reviews and saw one stating that the cord was 'definitely unwaxed' so I bought it believing that to be the case. I guess they may have changed supplier since then and there's no label on the cord stating 'waxed' or 'un-waxed'. This cord is definitley 'waxed' and it may be suitable for sash windows (I don't know) but it twists and sticks in the pulleys of the airer so the slats come down at a wonky angle and it sheds little lumps of wax over the Aga and kitchen floor. It's stiff and sticky to the touch and I have to wash my hands before touching the clean linen I'm hanging up - and again after pulling up the airer. When we were measuring it out, we did so on our wooden floor which is now dangerously slippery and we have to walk on mats on the area we used. The price of this cord is very reasonable (at just under £5) but I've now ordered some unwaxed cord online which is costing me over three times as much, but will hopefully be more suitable.
Just what I needed great staff and willing to help
Good bit of cord. Easy to work with and reasonably priced
Why is someone moaning that is cost 49.8p a metre.
Great product, did what was needed, window work again
Good for light weights but used way better sash cords in the past.
great value sashcord so so much cheaper than the big rip off diy store
Ok for what required, slightly mean on the length for the price.
Reasonably priced cord. Easy to cut and attach to windows. Was looking for thicker but this should last a decade or more.
Great service as always. Generally have the items you need in stock
A good cord that did the job. I can't help thinking the old style sashes should have had a better technique for attaching the weights as cords tend to snap too often for the design to be correct. There's no real way of knowing how long these will last due to the method of fitting.
Had to improvise as the diameter dimension advertised was incorrect. The inability to speak to someone in Customer Services led me to simply give up - number 34 in the queue, which spoke volumes..! Not keen on dealing with a Chat Robot..!
Only 3 stars, as it states waxed and it clearly isn't.
This just seems to be plain cotton sash cord, I wanted it for a clothes pulley and thinking waxed would make it smoother to run AND last longer.
Time will tell, but it's NOT WAXED!!!!!!!
It’s strong enough to do the job it’s made for a sash window
Superb product at exceptional value. Recommended to anyone.
