Good sized strong steel plate - used on C16 timber - appears thicker than other plates i have used. Found that if plate not hit dead plum with the hammer, the long bards tend to easily splay which was a pain - ultimately a result of my hammer action in tight spaces. Barbs could be shorter and still do the job..?
Great for cable protection, especially when over broadcast and you can’t see the cables.
Currently mid-renovation and laying new floors in a bedroom that seems to have every pipe and cable in the house running through it! I wanted peace of mind knowing they were all protected, so I picked up a pack of these plates. They’re easy to install and do exactly what they should. Just be careful where you leave them lying around — I knelt on the spiked side of one and it wasn’t too clever!
I’ll definitely be keeping a stash of these in the toolbox from now on.
Second time buying them, easy to install. First time for pipework behind the walls that needed to tiled. Screws won’t go through them easily as not enought pressure could be applied on a vertical wall. Second time, it’s to protect the not pipes under on top of the notched joists. The screws went through the plates without any resistance twice!
Fit for purpose. Used for protecting cables checked into top of joists before flooring.
It does the job. I would recommend this product to anyone.
Good product, great value, really good paint For metal
Plates reasonable but prongs bend down when hammering into timber so wasted a few
Toolstation really good value for money and very helpful
Seems to do the job, and a cheap price! Others had thought the spikes not so strong, but seemed ok to me. Could easily fix with a screw or nail if they broke.
Ideal, good quality. Work well for the purpose they are made
Great product, Perfect for my job and reasonable priced tooexactly what was needed 👍🏻
Very useful little things. Only drawback is that sometimes 1 or more of the pins/nials folds ove.
Cheap way of giving some extra peace of mind for placing over cables and pipe work etc.
Does what you want, easy to use. Sharp enough to get decent tac
Decent product, does the job will work for most common joist sizes, however the older Victorian period joist it is slightly smaller then, we couldn’t find any larger sizes so made good as best as possible. Overall happy with it.
Great piece of kit to protect cables and pipes against drilling and cutting. Usually fitted under floorboards. Thin profile and pack of 10
Used these to protect cables in the framework of a garden shed to prevent screws being put through them. Easy to use and strong.
Great product to protect your wiring or pipework cut through timber joists.
What can you say.. does exactly what you need it to
