This is quality well made product with a comfortable rubberized handle. Using just moderate effort the tamper compacted hardcore satisfactorly and easily. The 200mm square weighty base is of more generous proportions than majority of other examples which helps to get the job done somewhat faster a distinct advantage particularly when tackling larger areas.

This was not fit for purpose! The handle split on it 6th whack. Would not recommend! Going back for a full refund!!
Had to dig out and then create a base structure ahead of laying concrete slabs to support a new 1100L oil tank. This tamper did exactly what was needed to compact down a c.15 cm deep layer of MOT type 1 aggregate. Went back over and re-tampered again after it had rained overnight. Really good solid base achieved ahead of laying the slabs and will be using the tamper again soon when building another sub base structure ready for a wooden workshop building.

As described if you have some a tampering to do it’s a good tool, plenty of elbow grease needed but it’s a good workout.
Very useful tool to for general garden work. We’re building a patio area and needed something to compact the hardcore but didn’t want to higher a wacker plate for a small job so this was ideal.
