Brought this Mattock, to help with removing bamboo, wow what a tool why did I not buy one before?
Makes easy work of cutting roots and pulling bushes!
Great tool for around the garden although I don’t think it was designed for this use,
Got rid of those bamboo roots in no time!
Have not used the pick, but was a bargain for the two, (can’t resist a bargain)
Both tools are very well made,
And the mattock certainly took some punishment,
As well as dishing it out,
Absolute bargain tool never getting rid of the mattock, it’s like a Swiss Army knife for the shed 10/10 tool,
Ideal strong tools for digging up bamboo as well as the ground!
Two very good pick axes, had a wooden handle one before and broke it within a day of using. Been working with these for a few days now and hardly show a scar! Happy days!
Haven't given them really hard labour yet - not like the effort that broke my wooden handled pick from W*****. But they seem fine so far. The points are very sharp.
This was actually sharp, which not something you can guarantee these days when buying axes. The only negative is the heads are held in place by hammering on, would prefer a more secure method. Zthe head has never come off, though.

Tore up my old patio nicely! Had doubts about the construction, but turned out solid.
I bought these to take out 2 apple tree stumps, they were great, no messing about, a good dig around and then a good few blows to get the heads under the main stump to cut the bigger roots off, no problem, and a good price.
Have used the mattocks to grub up some shrubs with deep roots and it handled the job well. It allowed me to split the shrub into parts with the vertical blade and to chop through the deeper roots easily with the horizontal blade. I have not needed to use the pick yet but I have no doubt it will work equally well. The handles seem to absorb shock better than an old wooden handled pick that needed replacing.
Great handle quality. Pick, mattock heads are on the rough forged side but cutting ends good.

This was the only item to arrive of a larger order. However, i would highly recommend this pack, they are great tools to have for grubbing up, easier to use than a pick axe and much more versatile
