Roughneck Heavy Duty Gorilla Wrecking Bar 36" (915mm)

A very good bar, with a manageable weight for the size, and great balance in the hand. This size is a good size to use standing up. The end points and the ends square side edges are very sharp. The rubber protectors for the ends are flimsy and get torn easily. I notice the end prongs could break with force, as some other reviews further afield have found. So, it is necessary to get the end of the bar as far as possible under the wood, etc, to be lifted. With Roughneck tools, I do wonder if Roughneck generally have got the balance right in hardening the steel, as there is a point where the steel can get too brittle and easy to break. I notice a number of easy-to-break rejects of this steel process have been sold on a particular online marketplace - What a jungle! I would always buy from a company like Toolstation. There is a Roughneck 25 year guarantee. Reviews often don't give adequate time after purchase to get the review in, to allow testing of tools. I would have liked to give an update once I had used it. Overall, this tool is a brilliant idea in it's design and shape. It allows leverage of boxes, as the main bar is angled slightly back towards you. It is very sturdy. With any bars like these, always check the condition and shape of the ends before you buy.

I used this to take out the last two tree stumps (of 29!) at the front of the premises which were proving difficult. I had them both out within an hour. This really is a heavy duty blunt instrument. Heavy & solid, it made easy work of its first job: demolishing a wooden fence. It's heft and length provided all the leverage and weight necessary.

Great tool for dismantling an old pergola and decking, even managed to remove 75cm fence post spikes from clay based soil with relative ease.

Needed a decent crowbar to dismantle old French panels. This has worked really well for that job. Lengthy enough to be easy to use with easy leverage. It is weighty but that is what would be expected. Very effective for the price.

Very useful piece of kit, strong, good price. Used for breaking up and levering out a concrete slab approx. 15cm thick, coped no problem.
