Well made product and at a competitive price. I needed this product promptly as work was already underway, Toolstation didn’t have it in stock at my local branch but arranged from head office to deliver the next day. It came special delivery much to my relief.
The fittings aren’t quite right. Difficult to get it to grip the pot. Noisy operation.
So I discovered Jackdaws were trying to build a nest in my chimney. I thought I’d put a stop to it with stuffing a ball of chicken wire down the chimney, but they managed to pull it out - so more engineering was needed. I probably could have got away with a cheaper birdguard only, but all of the quickly available ones are designed for a chimney pot instead of a flat one - therefore needed a hook fixing system.
The only reason I mark this down is that at all the hooks needed bending with a lump hammer in a vice, in order for it to attach to my 18cm chimney.
No more jackdaws - well not in my chimney anyway!!

Definitely sounds quieter than the one it replaces.
Purchased to improve draw, however I’ve not yet fitted as it appears last log delivery wasn’t correctyseasoned! 😡
Going to shop about for moisture meter & fit this once chimneys been swept.

Excellent value , as exactly the same as the colt cowl/ loft shop but about £50 cheaper toolstation come through yet again top quality best price ,can’t ask for more
