The item whilst well constructed fell short on the spade end which goes into the opening. It was not long enough and kept slipping out, causing the operator to fall back. The spade needs to be a bit longer to ensure it has a good hold of the cover.

Nice low price for a simple key to open manhole to read the watermeter. Heavy casting with a hole drilled through it so you can thread string through it to hang it up..
Firstly, the product online and in the brochure bears no resemblance to the one in stock. It is also completely unsuitable to safely lift very heavy cast iron manhole covers. In fact, it could be dangerous!

It works, and you can tie a piece of string on it to hang it up or put on your wrist so that you don’t drop it down the manhole!
