Marvelous as always thanks for the update and paper recycling
The 32 year old ones on my central heating had started leaking so as well as a replacement pump I had to replace the isolating valves too. These were just what I needed albeit I had to shorten the existing pipework by 6mm to get them to fit.
Bought as replacement for unexpected leak when replacing Heating Pump. Perfect fit, no need to alter pipework. New pump now leak free.
Good quality at fair price - did the job :-)
Removed an old pump that had seized and replaced with one that was operating fine. Bought these as standby in case the old connections failed when reconnecting. Old connections were fine, so these remain as spares.
Simple replacement of a pair of old leaky isolators. Came with rubber washers and olives, so nice straightforward replacement. Joint on old large nut was stuck fast but a few sharp hammer blows loosened it up! Quality is good and no more leaks!
I bought this x 2 but found had purchased the wrong size. Nothing wrong with the product though.
Used as direct replacement not by choice. These valves are ok in a confined space but don't expect them to turn off without leaking after a few years. Speaking from experience don't use them unless you have too. Pay the extra and get the gate valve type they have no problems being turned off.
The first one of these I fitted failed at around three months, the second at less than that. A plumber friend says that is his experience as well. They may be OK for gravity systems, but do not use them if you have combi or high pressure. Pegler are OK and I believe the Perfect ones are also (ask me in a year!)
In a fix as installed ball valve failed. Toolstation open early evening and this saved the day. Heating back on after reconnecting pump through the valve.
