This might be ok on a nice firm wall and where it’s not likely to be kicked. I used this against drywall in a corridor as a stop for my front door and it lasted 2 days. As it has no base the whole thing is easily bent and/or can come loose from its single anchor point. Nice chrome finish which looks good albeit less than functional as a door stop in my case.

As with many items, I read the reviews first. These were mixed , but I thought this will be ok. Some of the reviews talked of what was pictured online as the end or base cap being missing. Indeed this was correct in my case. Also, having ordered two pairs, I arrived at the store to be presented with two different pairs, but the same code! One pair had a wall fixing like an anchor bolts with a machine thread, but when placed in a wall the nut provided would cause the door stop to be away from the wall by about 6 to 8mm. The other pair were slightly shorter in length and came with a screw a wall plug; a much better option as no gap is left. I would say that for both these styles a wall plug and screw is the way to go, but toolstation really do need to ensure the pictorial image of an item does match with the product and that being presented with different items of the same description is poor. I would recommend these, but as said, you need to use your own fixings for your own job.

Item came with no instructions. Not entirely sure for what type of wall the plugs supplied could be used, so i binned them. Had a pack of 5mm plugs with screws so i used them instead to drill into the wall.
Other reviews are saying to drill into the skirting... Not sure how thick their skirting is, but mine is only maybe 10mm and their plastic of some sort. Didn't want to risk cracking them.
The item does look different than the one in the photo. It doesn't come with the bottom base thing that sits against the wall.
In hopes to help someone else, the way i installed them is:
Drilled into the wall
Put the wall plug in
Put the door stop over the plug
Screwed in
Put the rubber cap on
Put 2 of them like that in the kitchen and bedroom
Sturdy and no movement.
Been taking a months long beating from the door by my 2yo daughter and still as good as the day i installed it.
Bought these doorstops for a slim finish, look nice, easy to fix & trim if necessary but fall off fixing nut/insert after a few weeks which is no good.
Item slightly different to one pictured ( pictured has a bezel type that you attach to wall/skirting first). The item does not have this and fixes directly to the wall.Easy to attach.
