If replacing a normal ceiling rose, please be aware that this item is not a surface fit on the ceiling; it needs a recess. It is important to install it in a circular dry lining box for which a suitable hole must be cut. If the ceiling rise being replaced was screwed to a joist, then the circular box needs to be positioned to avoid the joist which should not be cut into. Just install the box alongside the joist. A bit of Pollyfilla might be required to finish the job as there might be exposed screw holes from the old ceiling rose. The plug-in features allow the light cord to be wired up at ground level and then plugged into the rose. This avoids having to do the cord wiring from up a ladder - far safer.
Good product, but it's not obvious from the catalogue picture that it requires a circular patress. Fine for mounting in a circular plasterboard box, but if required to mount directly on to a ceiling without a void above, i.e. surface mount, it will require a patress.
Great product, so easy when testing an installation
This rose needs a round back box which wasn't supplied. Otherwise you cannot fix it & live wires are exposed.
