Purchased this to catch a rat alive, in order to release safely, away from home, it caught one within 4 days of setting, obviously depends what bait you use to attract in, only downside the rat was dead when checking the cage the next day, it must have been caught during the night, and i assume died of stress before i could have released it, which wasn't the objective, so i would suggest setting it only during waking hours so you can check it regularly, maybe every hour or so

It did catch four rats and a squirrel so it works. Used roasted peanuts. But after a few weeks, it is showing signs of tarnishing.
A well designed and well made humane rat trap. Caught the little blighter, actually he was quite big, and let him loose in the woods.
After wasting money on two traps and a tube of bait Product Codes: 52558, 24391, 80507 which failed to do their job in desperation I bought this. I was absolutely delighted when it had the desired result.

Seems well made enough - haven't caught anything yet as it seems Roland has found somewhere else to live after heavy rains flooded the underneath of our decking, where he was living. One thing I have noticed though is the spring that snaps the door shut isn't strong enough - you have to get the release mechanism in exactly the right place or the door stays open when the bait is triggered! I might try and reposition the spring or try and sort out where the friction point is - but you really shouldn't have to. Still give it 4 stars though as anyone with an even slightly mechanical bent should be able to sort it.

Good piece of kit caught the rat after 10days in situ was able to release it into the wild no probs. It was quite a big rat very heavy but the cage held it very well. I would recommend this trap for a humane way of trapping rodents.

It works. Rat captured on first night I put it on our patio. Problem was also caught a sparrow the next day but was released unharmed like the rat a mile from home 👌

Works well, caught the rat within 24 hours, a second one escaped through the small flap though. Also caught a blackbird so check regularly!
