The nylon drain plug is not as robust as the steel version sold by a competitor when used to block a 110 mm pipe. I decided to return the nylon plug and buy the steel version.
OK for some uses but not very robust, do not use to prevent rodents escaping from drains as they would chew through it.
The rubber came away from the fitting when tightening
I buy lots of stuff from toolstation; it's generally OK, but I cannot recommend this bung. It's a poor designed, badly made. I'm sure there are better bungs available.
ideal purchase for building reg sign off at a good price
Good price. Easy to install. Used to plug a redundant 4" vitrified clay pipe.
There's a fundamental problem in that it's really difficult to tighten the wingnut once the bung is installed because the whole thing keeps trying to spin. Could get it to seal at all. Bought a flexible end cap with jubilee clip instead.
Good value for money product, In stock ready for pick up.
I bought this as I couldn't find my brass one. Totally rubbish would not tighten up then decided to pull the centre out.
Easy to fit, but not as stable as expected, it could have been more stable
Used when teeing off the sewage pipe. Did the job, great value. Remember to remove before finishing off 😁
Not even worth one star
Absolute rubbish
Does not work
Threads impossibly tight
Save your money !!
Gone straight in skip
I have a vertical soilpipe which was vulnerable to bits falling down while I was working on it.
This gadget did the job perfectly, as well as keeping the pong away! I did attach a length of string to the gadget just in case.
Fits the hole but plastic thread is very tight. Needed 2 hands to do up , was in a shallow manhole. Wouldn't of liked to have put in a deeper drain.
Bought to do a building inspection drain test. It was the cheapest available and it worked fine. The removable screw on cap makes it easier to empty an inspection chamber before removing the drain plug.
Bollocking old outlet so going to leave it in place so no returns if manhole gets blocked.. so for this plastic n rubber over metal n rubber ones..
Stiff to turn and doesn't hold a seal, not great..
Works well. Great value. East to use. Empty it afterwards.
I needed a cheap and quick solution to temporarily sealing a drain, during a house renovation
Haven't used it yet but it feels cheap and weak. Regret the purchase
