Bought this to replace an unbranded type at a relative's house, that had failed due to suspected loose connections! The original had somehow been squeezed onto a 25mm pattress, crushing the 6.0mm conductors and disconnecting the incoming protective (earth) conductor! The outgoing protective (to the shower) was so taut, you could have played a tune on it!
The MK isolator is solidly built with a deeper interior that required a minimum pattress depth of 40mm. MK wiring accessories historically had an enviable reputation for quality, often used by DNOs before they were called DNOs!
Good to see that the quality persists with this particular item. The terminal screws seem to be good quality and are accessed vertically above and below the switch interior.
More expensive than the competition but in this case I believe it to be worth it for the peace of mind!
It is vitally important that all electrical connections are both electrically and mechanically 'sound' and none more so than those final circuits feeding high power appliances, especially showers.
It is also a good idea to re-check the security of the connections after say, six months or so, since stranded copper conductors 'bed-in' over time!
Needed to replace switch, straight forward swap. Works as it should.
Purchased this switch to replace a similar one installed over ten years ago. So even though the terminals on the new switch were reversed it was a simple job; made easier with the terminals being labelled appropriately albeit difficult to read with small fonts. The previous switch was a little easier to identify each terminal as it was colour coded which the new purchase failed to have .
Very good quality product, good strong termination screws
Great fit, packed well easy to fit direct replacement of the original unit
Easy to fit with all terminals having clear access and captive screws, good switch action and clear neon indication. Fitted in a 47mm deep drylining back box, so plenty of space for cabling.
Supplied labels (cooker / shower / oven / hob / .....) nice touch, but (personally) unlikely to use.
Brought this to replace a faulty one,fit perfect on the back box,so no need to replace that, was cheap but still quality,it did the job.
Easy to install and a very good product. I am recommending to anyone
Good quality at a reasonable price, the electrical products are A*
Solid build quality, easy to install (except for wrestling with the 6mm cables)
Exact replacement at a keen price for a quality well respected brand.
Looks good, less clunky than the square corner one. It actually says it 60amps on the switch.
Good quality. Easy to locate on the website and quick to collect in store.
Good switch. If you don't want the neon on permanently, then move the two neon wires to the top connections ( across the load feed). They just push in, but ensure that they make a good connection. Also if not existing, you will need a double switch (2 gang) back box. As usually wiring mains wires with little flexibility it may be prudent to use a deep back box. I used a 47mm deep box.
When it's just after 12pm on Saturday and you run out of something, Toolstation is still open and will be even on Sunday.
No problem with the goods or collection but staff quite rude. While I was being served the assistant spoke with another customar all the time. I was just handed my goods while he chatted with the other customer never a thank you or anything. Makes you want not to go back there
Great product, great service. Well done the Sevenoaks Toolstation Team. Thanks a lot.
