There's no job too tough for this thing. It eats porcelain
Poor only drilled 2 holes before it failed marcrist much better
Good product and did the job, albeit slowly. So far I’ve drilled 8 holes with this through ‘old fashioned’ heavily glazed bathroom tiles. I’m not sure whether it’s my lack of upper body strength or the fact that my power drill is only a mid range drill but it seemed to take a very long time. Happy with the results though and the bit still has life in it. I repeatedly wetted the bit to make it last.
Excellent little set, cheaper than buying the bits individually.
First use of 8mm bit very impressive - drilled 4 holes in porcelain tiles in about as little time as it took to write this review and has drilled several more since.
10mm didn't perform quite as well and burnt out after 2 holes in similar tiles.
The suction-fit drill guide is a good idea, but quite useless on anything other than perfectly smooth surfaces. I always use the next size up, so 8mm through the tiles for a 6mm wallplug, then 6mm into the brickwork behind, start drilling at an angle and gradually bring it square to the wall.
All in all, very pleased with my purchase, a handy addition to the toolkit.
I drilled 7 holes through thick porcelain tiles ok, taking it easy and repeatedly cooling it in water. The hollow core got clogged instantly as it is so small but it worked ok
I drilled 8 holes with the 6mm drill. The sharpness of the drill went out. The price of the set was ok, but an individual 6mm drill is a bit expensive.
Drill does what is expected. Needs to be on fast speed and ensure it doesn’t overheat.
Hole took about 45 mins to get through the tile so allow for that.
I spent the day drilling eight holes but all good.
Used for drilling holes in slate. Used dry with a pillar drill, so able to drill straight and slow.
First time drilling into tiles. The guide is very useful for keeping the bit on target and with high speed, a steady hand and cooling water every 5-10 seconds it does the job.
Waste of money, drilled six holes and tip burnt out, was smoking used, followed instructions, high speed, dry cut. Do not buy.
Very helpful drill bit set, the bit guide doesn't wander or fall off easily. The bits themselves are not the highest possible quality but you get 3 bits for the price of 1 name brannd. Keep them clean and cool and you won't have any trouble.
Have had different make of this type of drill bit before but this one fail .
Stops part way through as it becomes clogged and the cutting edge is no longer cut until it’s cleaned and cleaning impossible difficult
Good bit of kit. Don’t lose it! Used to extend opening for back box in tile.
Needed this drill bit for bathroom tiles & it worked very well indeed considering the tiles were quite thick.
Great bit that does around 50 or so holes, great price. Cannot fault.
Really bad product
I bought it to do few holes it got burned in first hole and used it how it was instructed
Excellent for porcelain tiles. Saved me ages, so munch faster than masonry drill bits
Amazing tool, my hopes weren’t too high but thought I would give it a go and well pleased with it, drilled two inch deep holes in Ailsa Craig granite, used cold running water to keep bit cool and drilled about 30 seconds at a time, drilled both holes and diamond tip is still like new.
Used this product on my outdoor 20mm porcelain tiles for drilling holes for 100 by 100 mm post support. The item works well but my tiles are tough and I had to buy additional drill bits due to wear. The wax on the inner core does get used quite quickly if using dry drilling. The suction pad was really useful to keep the drill bit on target.
Brilliant tile bit, works perfectly, wish I'd bought one years ago!
