This Awl is well worth the money being at £1.99p which definitely did not break the Bank.
Apart from its intended use it can be used to dislodge a screw trapped between floorboards or something similar in that sort of situation.
Overall I am very pleased with this Product
It pokes holes really well. It's very pointy and the holes it makes are pretty holey.
Had to make some pilot holes in a UPVC panel before hammering in UPVC pins to avoid them slipping. The awl is nice and sharp with a decent handle hence making the job easy.

Ideal awl for accurately getting a decent pinprick in timber, for starting drilling in the right place, or starting a screw or screw-eye. Fine point tapered up to a robust taper, that comes from a decent metal shaft, held in a nice solid handle. Better than I expected from the catalogue!
