Good for the pipe to a garden tap, making a neater hole than a mason art drill
This even cut engineing brirck and concrete quick and little where. Down side is dardcto clear the cut material out.
We bought this as the previous identical item had lost its diamonds. Retipping would have been preferred
Excellent piece of kit, clean through brickwork, much better than a sds drill bit. No break out.
I own a number of core drills now, 3 of which are Mexco and have always found them to be good quality and reliable. As the 22mm drill is pretty small you do need to be careful not to overwork it or you risk the cutting teeth falling off if it gets too hot.
Not a bad bit of kit, predictably cut through thermalite block , but found the brick work slow going. I’ve got a Marcrist 4” core that whistled through the same material. But it did get there and didn’t burst the masonry out. Use on drill only NOT precusion/hammer.
Had loads of these in the past and this one is one of the better quality ones we’ve purchased
Bought to drill hole for outside tap,but totally burned out before it was even half way through a brick..refund given..
Bought this to drill some sandstone for doweling, did the job no problem at all
Bought this to drill a hole for a garden tap.Didn't get half way through the brick before it burnt out..
I've only used it once, it did the job great and seems to have lots of life still in it. Was reasonably priced but suspect its not the best quality one you can buy. However it did the job fine.
Bought this to drill holes in block paving for shoot bolts to secure rear gates to our drive . Drilled 5 holes effortlessly and drill bit still has plenty of life left . Excellent product A+++++++
The wall wore the it out on first use, didn’t even manage to go all the way through.
Brought for drilling bricks for small garden lights and works very well all 400 mm is handy
for control even though I only needed to drill 3 inches at a time
Leaves a good clean hole with little break out. Drilling times can be longer in some materials, because of diameter and short cutting surface compared to larger core drills. No impact drill required.
Bought this as there wasn't many out there at 22mm. Would have preferred a shorter one as well. Needed to buy the 400mm drill bit as well. Pity this is not offered as a two part purchase or even advisng that you may need the drill bit as well (not everyone carries a 400 taper bit). As i said a 200mm version would be very good-with drill bit.
