I lost my original Mexco Drill bit during work, fell into the cavity wall :(
Fitted perfectly and was well built and up to the job.
Great little set, used it yesterday with a mexco diamond core drill and it worked perfectly.
Often gets stuck in the wall when slowly backing out the core bit
Fits well. An essential extra when drilling through thick walls.
Nicely made, only gripe is the tapered pilot drill kept coming loose and out
Great price good piece of kit
Good quality, easy to use.
I bought this for a Mexco Core cutter but it does not fit. Mexco has a different thread. You have to buy the Mexco drill adapter which isn't great if you already own the drill bits..
The adaptor sheered after one and a very little bit of the second hole (117mm core in 4" brick).
Not a happy event on a Sunday afternoon and a job that really needed to be finished that day.
The get out of jail card was that the stub attached to the core bit fitted into the chuck of my regular drill and I was able to finish the job using it.
To be fair to the Toolstation branch they did offered to replace / exchange the part but a replacement drill needed now that the original drill was out of commission was not on the cards.
My mistake when taking the adaptor back was that it was still attached to the core and ironically the branch did not have the tools necessary to split the broken adaptor from the core, and they felt that without the broken adaptor an exchange was not possible.
I did need to drill one other hole to complete the job and given how easy it had been using my regular drill I just left the matter there.
I am sure that when I get the time to return the adaptor that Toolstation will supply a replacement - tho' I will insist that it is not the SDS adaptor but the regular adaptor given that I no longer have a usable SDS drill.
I would advise that if you have the option then do not purchase this adaptor, get the regular one.
The SDS drill? I am left with the conundrum of having stripped the chuck the broken shank looks as if it has distrorted and is going to require a bit of persuasion to leave. Not sure if the time required will be worth the effort. Will be really narked if I've got the write the drill off as a result - that has effectively made the cost of the adaptor in excess of seventy quid.
still have to see if I can extract the remaining
WORKED WELL WITH THE RECOMMENDED PARTNER CORE DRILL I BOUGHT
Good quality, used with a 117mm core & worked perfectly
Did the job after the SDS adapter twisted on my set. So much better than buying a whole new set
Fits well in the drill and does the job it’s intended to do
Done the job of getting a waste pipe through a 400 deep wall brilliant along with the hole cutter we bought with it
This is the second one of these I've bought, the first one twisted where the sds went into the drill, had a mare getting it out of the drill then. Was using it on a 4inch hole, second one is lasting, but only used on 2 inch core.
Went though solid one brick exterior wall in around 10 minutes using the short holder. I bought the long one as well but not needed.
Made steady progress provided the drill was kept straight and did not bind on sides creating a clean parallel hole.
