Solid adaptor that does exactly what it should. The hex shank grips firmly in a standard chuck, and the thread mates cleanly to 1/2" BSP cores—no wobble, no runout. Feels robust, holds tight under load, and makes swapping cores quick. Simple, reliable bit of kit.

This adaptor did not fit the TCT core bit or pilot drill bits that I bought with it. 84790 is described as 'for use with TCT & diamond core drills' on the Toolstation website. Toolstation referred me to Toolpak because they were not able to answer. Their supplier stated that it is NOT compatible with TCT core drill bits, only diamond cores. Also, the hole for the pilot drill bit is much too big & the hole for a securing grub screw is way too big & unthreaded

If you've not got an SDS this worked well for me
So far I have had two of these, one delivered, one click and collected. Both have been minus the 8mm grub screw/ bolt required to secure the pilot drill necessary to centre the core drill I am waiting to use.
Customer services have been good so far and I await the third hopefully with the means to secure the pilot.

First use drilling a 52mm core using a drill with clutch. The hex adaptor bent in the chuck. Must be soft steel because it looks big enough.
Bought this so I could use the dry diamond core bit.
It fitted well and allowed me to use the bit with my drill but was not long enough to go through both courses of the cavity wall.
You may need a long masonry bit to give you a guide as to where to drill on the other side.
I needed to drill a hole through a wall with limited space available and needed a short adaptor. This was ideal and served the purpose well.
