Good quality plastic joiners, fits both 32mm and older 1” black pipe
Not so straightforward to install. I had to chamfer the pipe end to be able to push it in. But the removableends allowed me to reset the pipe without being caught in the holding spikes, so that was a benefit.
Bought this to repair the water supply to my allotment. Seems good for the price with sturdy internal grips. Needs inserts to make a strong joint.
Allotment water supply: used this for connecting new pipe to the old.

I bought this coupling to repair the old black type water pipe that I had just sliced open with my spade in the garden.
I also bought the inserts.
At first I thought that the coupling wouldn't fit as I was mixing metric pipe with who knows what. I lubricated the o ring and the pipe with silicon grease and it went together perfectly. Only hand tightening necessary.
You need to assemble the joint and get it right first time, as the grommet that holds the pipe in the unit has a fierce grip on the pipe and I don't think you have a second chance.
