It’s a straight coupling for 25 mdpe pipe. What more can I say it did the job. Best bit by doing the job myself saved £1340 rather than getting the utility company in. Even Dick Turpin wore a mask !

Very helpful staff! Purchased parts online and collected the following day. Didn’t notice that one of the couplers had a part missing until I tried to fit them! This meant another 6mile round trip to Toolstation.

Can't really comment sensibly, as this is underground now and not yet under mains pressure.
However I am very used to these fitments (farmer as well as furniture-maker), and this seems well made and easy to use. My belief is you don't use a spanner, just tighten up well by hand. It also says it's non-demountable, but I don't think that's right. If needed, you can unscrew the nut and pull the pipe out of the O-ring housing as far as I can see, like Plasson.
Having said all that I can't see any reason not to give it 5 stars, except that it's not yet under pressure. I also don't think Toolstation would sell rubbish for use underground for mains water.
