Of 3 brands tried, these have better thread and seals so less likely to leak, though I had to exchange to get the adjustable one as basin heights, waste depths and outlet heights vary.
Replacement for original. Worked fine. As a suggestion try replacing the square section washers first as they are much cheaper than the trap.
Bought this replace old one which had become clogged with limescale/dirt/etc. Was exact match for one taken off, easy to install and threaded onto existing pipes really easily.
This trap was ideal for underneath my bathroom sink

This item was not standard , I was going to replace an old and leaking one but it would not fit in the space.So I did not use it and repaired the existing one .
Never had an issue with a McAlpine trap - cheaper traps can fail after hot water is run or the thread can play up. You never get an issue with these traps - the Rolls Royce of traps and waste fittings
Ebabled a tricky installation to be done relatively easily
Very poorly made, obviously no line checkers. Hopefully I only got the dodgy one. The top fitting to the waste was elliptical in shape and no way it was going to fit, used half an old fitting to finish the job
