Decided to install this on a sink due to ‘glugging’, swapped out the trap and problem solved in less than 5 mins. Highly recommended

Bought this because after buying the double sink pipework, we had gurgling noises due to syphoning.
However the vent would not, fit although it is a direct installation if you use just the vent part.
Unfortunately, the vent did not fit under the double sink pipework, ended up having to add bends and couplers to reposition the vent so that it was not under the double pipe connection.
It would have been much simpler if the design of the double sink pipe pack, had taken the vent installation into consideration, it would mean, just 1cm lowering of the horizontal pipe!
great product, mcalpine beats any own brand plumbing waste fittings hands down.. a bit more expensive but worth it
I searched online for a replacement for the one which had started leaking through the anti siphon valve. This came up on Toolstation however the version originally fitted had an adjustable coupling to allow for the drain not being on the same level as the basin outlet. This version has not got that, it seems to couple directly to the basin and far as I can see isn’t listed on the McAlpine website.
Trap works well with the minimum of effort to install.
Easy and quick to replace the existing U fitting and solved the annoying noise.
Over time our kitchen sink has got noisier & noisier with it gurgling & rumbling for 30-60 seconds after draining the sink or the washing machine / dishwasher discharging into the shared pipe. I’d tried all sorts of chemical cleaning products but none eliminated the problem. A plumber then recommended an anti-syphon trap to release trapped air before the trap. I found this McAlpine trap, which was the same shape/connections as what was already installed, click & collected it and had it installed in minutes. The kitchen sink now doesn’t make a single sound…it’s 100% silent! A must buy for all sinks, or the equivalent AAV fitting for bathrooms etc.

I fitted a 1 and 1/2 bowl sink in the kitchen and the gurgling when the sinks and washing machine emptied could be heard around the house.
This fixed the problem. It was a direct replacement for the original P trap so it only took 5 minutes to fit

McAlpine quality always top notch. Always pay the extra for these reliable bits as it is not worth the trouble of fitting cheap ones for them to leak and then going back to change them.
After having successfully consolidated 3 separate P traps and waste pipes for dishwasher, waste disposal unit and 1 + 1/2 sink using a McAlpine double sink kit (SK2 purchased from S'Fix as they don't appear to sell them here), although the solution worked perfectly, it was very "gurgly" when the sink or dishwasher was draining. So, I bought this "anti-syphon" P trap to replace just the standard McAlpine kit P trap, swapped it in a couple of minutes and it has worked perfectly; no more noisy "gurgling" when the sink or dishwasher drains!
