The non return valve resolved the problem of waste water coming up the basin. This was a last resort solution and saved a lot of time and expense in correcting a wrong plumbing configuration.
Always liked McAlpine products but this is just not good enough, it lets brand is really not fit for purpose

Easy to use does what it does
Inserted this to stop back flow into a sink within 2 days the small flimsy seal came off and the kitchen sink back filled again, it also dripped from the top screw.
