Used under the bath 🛁 to extend the low pipe run to the bath shallow 40mm trap
I have a Kitchen Sink unit which has busy pipework underneath. There is a 1.5 Bowl arrangement with a waste disposal and a Branch for a Dishwasher Outlet. Every couple of Years I get leaks from the 40mm White Plastic Compression pipework and have to replace seals or Re-Jig.
I have worked out that there is movement from the vibration of the Waste Disposal- Its not 'Loose' or poorly fixed- but the Thinness of Modern Stainless Sink Tops allows an amount of Flex- so things move slightly.
This slight movement combined with a coupling pipe alignment between two 90 Degree Bends in the pipe flow means that one particular joint was never perfectly true and it was only a matter of time before the seal broke down- adding liquid silicone/Plumbers Grease/ PTFE was only a First Aid measure which never seemed to buy me more than a few days relief.
So I decided to go for one of these flexible couplers for a change- and after one week its still dry and appears to have cured the problem- lets hope its forever. Will update in 1 years time!
Hopefully its a chep fix.
Fitted a low-level shower tray and needed a waste pipe to connect to the shower drain. There was limited access so I chose this flexible pipe which fitted perfectly.
Compression 40mm straight connector. Used for kitchen sink waste to join onto existing waste pipe
Solved my plumbing problem by aligni g the two pipes
This is a sound product and saves installation time
Recessed my shower tray which put the waste slightly out of alignment. Swapped the 135 for a flexi. Perfect.
Ideal for connecting shower waste to pipe. Easy fitting.
A useful bit of kit but the plain end does not fit in push fit connections. Perhaps solvent weld ones would be ok but I haven't tried. Fit in compression fitting easily
Good quality Flexible waste pipe connectors, do the job well
What can I say - it’s McAlpine, it’s flexible and fits when in tight places that other fittings won’t. Fits well easily first time and doesn’t leak.
Bought to re-route waste from replacement waste disposal unit. Did the job perfectly
Found the 40mm male end doesn't fit other 40mm push fit or solvent weld fittings. managed to get a water tight connection in the end but spent time sorting what should be a simple job. If the entire waste system was McAlpine, probably no issues but retrofitting in an existing install is awkward. As a flexi connector for tight / misaligned pipework, it works.
