P trap was slightly short from my new bath waste trap, this was perfect to bridge the gap
Didn't collect item as traffic so bad getting to that Toolstation. Won't order from that TS again
The BSP end doesn't fit on the BSP end of a McAlpine S trap. It can be made to fit by enlarging the female end slightly, which is easy enough because it's plastic but it seems rather odd to need to do this so I wonder exactly what the intended purpose of this fitting is?
mcalpine quality fittings, a bit pricier than own brand
Retaining collar which went up against tank was very small
Not used yet - in van for next job, but it looks fine
Bought this to fit to a HEPVO waterless trap. Much cheaper than the wavin one and fits directly on and does the same job!
If you want the best fitting that’s going to the job first time and every time, pay just that little bit extra and buy McAlpine!
Does what it's supposed to
The compression side does not fit a 40mm pipe as it is straight inside instead of tapered as other compression connectors are.
To convert a 90 degree bend into compression fit. Not sure why mcalpine don't just make a 90 degree bend with compression fit but hey ho.
I bought this to connect a small section of waste pipe for a washing machine to a flowplast bottle trap with a 2-1/2” BSPP top connection. This straight connect does NOT fit it directly! I had to file down the inside to get it to fit. I’m not a plumber so don’t know what this is meant for but once filed down the inside, the parts threaded together fine and no leaks. I think the issue came from the bottle trap specs rather than this.
You would expect a 40mm (1 1/2") BSP adaptor to fit a 1 1/2" trap - this doesn't, nor does it fit the 32mm trap, so not sure what it is for or what it fits, but it is NOT a 1 1/2" BSP straight connector.
