The UP100D pruning shears are part of the Makita CXT cordless system and can be used with any CXT battery. Additionally they share battery compatibility with all other tools in the CXT range. The shears are suitable for cutting branches up to 25mm in diameter and they have an electronic blade angle adjustment control which enables the opening angle of the blades to be set to one of two settings depening on the thickness of the material being worked on. At 0.68kg excluding battery, the shears are lightweight and comfortable to use: combined with the electronic cutting action this means they can be used for long periods without becoming fatigued. The UP100D has a brushless motor which helps to ensure longer runtimes per battey charge, and means there are no brushes to replace throughout the tools lifetime. The UP100D has a cutting depth adjustment control which enables blades to be installed correctly for optimum performance after sharpening or replacement.
