I bought this set to replace an old set of a different make. I've used this Makita set to cut mainly plastic such as in plastic lights or extractor fans to create a more convenient cable entry hole. I have used to cut into thin steel casing and kitchen cabinet units. I only use the hole cutters on a semi regular basis so can not comment on durability.
