Pros: delivery and notifications from toolstation were handled well. This is an excellent mower, does what it says on the tin and does it well. Cutting speed is adequate and it has 2 well thought accidental turn on protection mechanisms. It is easy to assemble and relatively quiet (quieter than a petrol mower for sure)
You can and should register it with Makita for 3 year warranty.
Cons: it is relatively heavy however not cumbersome to operate, 2 full batteries will not last anywhere near the advertised 500sqm unless it is a maintenance mow rather than mowing after a longer time, the basket is based on airflow principle and needs to be kept clean and debris-free so that the mower will fill it up
Bought this just over a month ago and I'm very happy with it. I needed to mow two acres of paddock which is mostly inclined and it performed brilliantly . It's easier to handle than a petrol mower but just as powerful. Loved the stamina of it even when cutting grass which was over 2.5 inches tall ! I would definitely recommend it !
I was impressed by the mower build quality but unfortunately had to return it for a refund (no replacement available) as one of the back wheels was bent out of alignment. Two batteries were installed in the mower & the other two unboxed rattling
around unsecured in the box! I’d also had another Makita mower arrive with damage issues from another supplier which I personally put down to poor packaging & think
Makita really need to address this. Perhaps I’ve just been unlucky but what seems to be an excellent mower is really let down by poor packaging. All the Toolstation staff were very helpful but I think my three star rating is quite generous for my overall experience.
Great machine. Batteries last pretty long. So much better than my previous corded Bosch lawn mower!
superb bit of kit to complement the rest of my Makita power tools. have since bought a strimmer
so can use the batteries that came with the mower.
